Rounding Up The Week – Awesome Liquid Drum & Bass Mix From ALB

Another week chalked off, another thoroughly enjoyable time at work (said with immense sarcasm) but we aren’t here to get downtrodden with stress, it’s the weekend, it’s time to unwind and as if by magic, YouTube’s algorithms popped up an absolutely delightful mix from “The Man From Del Monte’s” channel.

This past week, he’s been having a few guests on and I have to say, in amongst my Liquid Drum & Bass Flashback series, it’s been nice to hear the latest sounds in the scene and today, it’s drum & bass heavyweight ALB providing us with a superb blend of liquid flavours – check it out below:

Take Your Pick

With nearly an hour of deep rollers, it’s hard to pick out just one tune that got me vibing more than most in this mix. To be honest, I’d probably put most of the tunes featured in a mix myself and this one has been added to the favourites so I can go back later in the year and buy a lot of these tracks featured! They are all right my street and exactly what’s needed to just flush out the bad vibes from the week.

Artificial Intelligence features a few times in this one and I’ve also played a few tracks of theirs out in the Platform Project but there are a few from ALB himself which I’ve always got plenty of time for! This mix features a lot of dubs which aren’t available to stream elsewhere as they are either unreleased or made exclusively for the mix so I’ll be keeping an eye on those releases.

Discovering TZ

One artist that caught my ear though was a producer called TZ who I had a little difficulty finding. It seems like he hasn’t released too much on his Soundcloud page but the one tune that is up there is this beautiful free download called “Lost” which has some deep soulful sounds to it.

TZ · Lost

I’m going to be keeping my ears to the ground to catch more liquid drum & bass delights from this producer from Brighton. I wish I could produce tracks as good as all of these legends can, they really have mastered their craft. The sound quality and dreamy pads are second to none – they definitely have the “commercial” grade production but I do what I can with my tunes and just draw inspiration from these guys and girls of the scene!

Shout Out To My Friends

I’ve been saddened to hear quite a lot of sad news from a few friends I’ve made on Hive today and today’s post is dedicated to them all – sending you positive vibes in these difficult times folks. Hope you bounce back strong.

Which one was your favourite of the mix? Let me know in the comments below!

Take care
